20 Things You Can Find In My Room...

Hey Everyone,

I have a new post for you that I've been planning and it's 20 Things You Can Find In My Room. I quite like writing lists of things, but I did find it hard to think of 20 things that were in my room. I did however complete that task and I have them here for you now.

I was supposed to post something through the week from last weekend - I was going to post it on Sunday but that got postponed because I wrote my previous post about the Operation Beautiful Mission. I thought I would have left it too long to write it this week but I may post a small extra one with the pictures I took.

Without further ado, here is 20 things you can find in my room...

1. A big wooden 'A' for Aoife.

I love this, firstly because it stands for my name, but secondly, because I love the wood and I love that it is chunky and it's just a good size - in my opinion.

2. A small pink 'a' (that also stands for Aoife).
This is another little wooden ornament and I recieved this from my brother as a gift, it's really quite small but cute.

3. A collection of Momiji ornament dolls.

Party Girl

Rainbows (left) and Luckiness (right)

Valentine

Angel

This is my collection and a few close ups of 5 I have chosen. I have 12 and if you just counted and you're shouting at your screen "THERE'S 13!!" - the one on the furthest end isn't a Momiji. You can also see in the first picture the small 'a' in the middle (front) and the big wooden 'A' in the middle (behind).

4. A picture frame with a very colourful picture of bottles.
I took this picture in a cute little american sweet shop in Camden, London. I love this picture and here's a fun fact about it - the table they were on was around about my hip and I wasn't sure if I was allowed to take pictures in the shop so I took this without looking. My nan got it printed for me anyway and put it in a frame as a present for me. So that's the story behind that.

5. My vintage camera collection.
These may be my favourite things in my room, I love them so much. I featured these in a blog post so if you want to see the story behind me getting these you can read that post here.

6. My 4 perfumes.

Firstly, I apologize that this picture isn't the right way around, for some reason I am unable to roatate it, but there they are - Selena Gomez - 'Selena' (back), Harajuku - 'Love' (left) and 'Music' (right) and finally Katy Perry - 'Purr'. I think it is easy enough for you to be able to tell which one is which.

7. Russell Howard Live box set.

Volumes 1 & 2. Volume 1 - Russell Howard Live at the Bloomsbury Theatre.
Volume 2 - Russell Howard Live Dingledodies at the Brighton Dome.
I have watched these two DVD's countless times - I could tell you what joke he is going to tell next.

8. Nail Varnish collection box.

You must all know by now how bad I am for nail varnish and I do have lot, I havent counted them and inside the box they all look very messy but there is my main/favourite/newest 6. I couldn't pick a favourite - it depends on my mood to be honest. I've written blog posts featuring all of these except the lilac first one so you'll be able to find them if you fancy reading about them.

9. My toiletries/make up bag.
This is another bag of mess that I should really sort out, on the right, the bluey-greeney bag with yellow flowers on is from the latest issue of Company Magazine.

10. My Light.
I have had this light for what feels like forever. Because it is plain diamonds, when I change my room, it still goes with everything which is great but sometimes the patterns it makes on the ceiling and the walls annoy me a bit.

11.My  gadgets - Laptop, Samsung galaxy tab & phone.

This is probably my favourite view because I do love my technology and if you look closely on my laptop screen is this very blog post in preparation.

12. My technology things...

These are quite hard to describe as a whole. They're supposed to be in the drawer under my bed but I put them on my bed for this photo. We have an external hard drive, my camcorder, mini tripod, old camera box and a bag of sd cards etc.

13. DVD box.

This is my DVD box plus the 14 I can't fit in. I counted that all together around my room, I have 49 DVD's which is a lot and I still take at least 10 minutes deciding what to watch.

14. My drawer of books and writing pads.

On the top here you can see my travel diary (blog post here) and beside it (left) is my book that I plan my blog posts in.

15. Jewellery.
These are my main 5/6 items. Earrings, rings, bracelet. Blog Post here.

16. Patchwork Cushions.
These are two cushions covers that I made when my nan was teaching me how to use a sewing machine - I'm still not very good. I doubt I could do this again.

17. MY COMPANY MAGAZINES.
I have chosen the March, June and July issues. I love these magazines so much - they are definately my favourite. I am planning a blog post on them so I'm not going into much detail.

18. Socks.
These things often become a real nuisance around my room, when I take them off they stay in my bed, fall out, and then they're all over my room. As much as I love socks they get me in a lot of trouble for the place looking untidy.

19. Art/Craft Drawer
This is my drawer of arts and crafts things, most of the equipment I use to make things goes in this draw - glue, pencils, beads, paper etc.

20. Memory Jar
This is my 2013 jar of memories and good things that have happened, I haven't really been keeping up with this lately and I have a lot to put in it but I have a post planned that I want to write about this so again, I'm not going to say much.

That's all for today, it's getting late so I'm gonna call it a night. I may post something else this weekend - we'll see, I'm not promising nothing.

Have a lovely weekend and goodnight/good morning to whoever is reading this.

'Operation Beautiful' & Positive Post-its

Hello everybody, I'm sorry that I didn't post this on Friday or Saturday but I've had quite a busy and fun weekend, but anyway, I have a lovely post for you this weekend.

I found this website called 'Operation Beautiful' and it sounded interesting so I decided to have a look at it and boy, am I glad I did! Operation Beautiful is a mission, using Positive Post-its to stop negative self-talk or they call it 'Fat-Talk'. Straight away I thought it was an amazing idea and could see it being very successful.
I immediately emailed the lovely lady, Caitlin, who is the editor for Operation Beautiful and asked for her permission to write about her mission on my blog for you all to join in and be a part of this change.

Kindly, she agreed and said of course I could write this, I am going to leave all the links below for any of you that are interested in being a part of it or even just going over to have a look and be inspired by her work and ideas.

I decided I would begin the mission myself and I have three examples of pictures I've taken over this weekend to encourage positivity.

It is really simple to do if you want to start, all you need is a post-it note, or here i've just used some squares of paper, write on them and take a picture in a mirror e.g. in the toilets at a shop, in the toilets at the cinema, in a changing room mirror etc.
If you take your picture/s you can email them to Caitlin at Operation Beautiful I'll put her email address at the end.

I believe that Fat-Talk is a serious issue and there is people who I know in my own life that I have been worried about and as much as it annoys me when they Fat-Talk repeatedly, I know I should be annoyed because they need help to realise that they are fine the way they are, even if they are unhappy with a few minor things.

I think this is an important and such an inspirational thing to do.

I would like to end today's post by thanking Caitlin for her permission for me to share this with you all and I wish nothing but success for 'Operation Beautiful'.

Aoife

Purchases - Jewelry and Nail Varnish Crazy

I'm back! I'm back! I'm back!

Hello everyone! The charger for my laptop was the problem and now I have a new one so all is good, I am back, and I have a mini jewelry and nail varnish haul for you all.

I was recently shopping and I went a bit nail varnish & jewelry crazy so I'm going to share them with you. I bought 3 new nail varnishes and some jewelry. All of the prices and shops are below if you like the look of anything.

This is the first nail varnish, it is from the Miss Sporty 'Clubbing Colours' range at Superdrug and the shade name is Pop Fiction, I think this would be available from most drug stores. I have seen these nail varnishes before but never really spotted a colour that I fancied trying but I noticed this one and loved it. I comes out a little darker than it looks in the picture, but this is quite accurate. I love this colour and I think it goes well with whatever you're wearing and it has surprisingly lasted a good length of time (with two coats). I would recommend this if you are looking for a shade like this or if you don't already own one.

This next one is 'Stormy Skies' from the MUA range, also at Superdrug. These nail varnishes are very cheap and they do have quite a variety of colours. I have not tried this yet so I don't know if it is long lasting but I have had a quick try on one nail to try the colour and I liked it. When I first saw it I wasn't very keen on the colour but I thought I would give it a go. I like trying different nail varnish brands and I don't usually mind which one it is as long as I like the colour. This is a dark khaki/brown shade and depending on your style of clothing I wouldn't  say it would go with everything, but why not give it a try?

This one is another different brand and it is 'Big Daddy' from the 'Sinful Colours' range at boots. I have never liked the colour orange but I beginning to grow a love for it and I wanted to try an orange shade nail varnish. I saw this one and it was very cheap so I decided I wanted it. I is a lovely shade of orange if i'm honest, and this one is a little lighter than in the picture (depending on how many coats you apply).
I didn't see many shades of these left in the shop but when I visited their website http://www.sinfulcolors.co.uk/products (this website address if the UK website, if you are from outside The UK, change '.co.uk' to '.com') I seen a lot more colours and I also saw their pastel colour range and I NEED to get some of those because my love for pastels is ridiculous. I would recommend these to you and I would recommend you to have a look on their website and see the colours too. Great price too, very impressed.

Moving onto jewelry, I found this cute little elephant necklace that I fell in love with straight away. It is gold with a thin gold chain and it falls quite short to just above the ribs. It is really light and it would look nice with any type of clothes.

I also came across this gold joined ring & bracelet, I loved it straight away but wasn't sure what it would look like on. I decided to give it a go anyway and really like it, I'm glad I bought it because I've always wanted to try on of these but never really saw one that I liked a lot. But this ticked all the boxes for me. Also in the second picture, it's a little hard to see but I am wearing the Pop Fiction nail varnish I mentioned earlier and I am really enjoying that right now.

Finally, this last piece is an earring set of six pairs (silver, gold, rose gold, metallic blue, brown & black). I have worn the blue and the black ones and I'm happy with them and their size, I wasn't sure of they'd be a bit big and look silly because I don't often wear earrings and I didn't want to go for something huge, but they're not, the size is just fine.

I hoped you liked these and fancy trying some yourself, or if you already have something I have featured here, did I describe it well? If you are interested however, here are the prices and shops I bought them from, but until next time, goodbye! :)
