Holiday Shopping & Extras

Hey everyone,

This is one of the posts I've been most excited to write, just because I love everything in it. So you can prepare yourself for lots of my excitement.

So I'm going on holiday soon and I've been shopping for clothes and things, not everything in this post was bought for my holiday but I just wanted to share them anyway.
I'll leave the shops and/or the link for things at the end.

First of all is the cutest top you've ever seen. Asdfghjkl I just love this so much, I saw this and said "I think I need this" and of course, the little voice in my head agreed and it came home with me. I regret nothing. This is a cropped vest top with wide arms and a watermelon on the front, and I love it very much.

I saw these too and omg, how was I supposed to leave them? When I saw these I said "They're gonna be coming home with me" and they did....
These are banana print flip flops with black straps. Basically, if something is fruit print or has fruit on it, I may need to own it.

I also picked up these hexagonal gold rings. As you can see in the first picture, there are a variety of sizes so can be worn in different places on your hand which I think is very convenient.

I love daisies and so of course when I saw them, I bought daisy print shorts. They're black, wide and swishy with small white and yellow daisies printed all over.

This is a cropped yellow boxy top with wide bat-winged sleeves.
I saw a fashion blogger wearing one of these t-shirts in white and decided I wanted to go and get one. Unfortunately, they are strange colours (Yellow, Orange, White & Grey) but I decided I liked this one to go with the daisy shorts.

This is a pastel, mint greeny-blue colour vest. It's very thin and swingy but the neck is not too low and I think this would be nice for holiday because it's light and would keep you cool.

This next one is a blue tie die swing dress.
I just thought this would be really easy to wear and would need a lot of effort which sometimes I can't be bothered with on holiday.

These last two things are watches. Anyone who knows me, knows how bad I am for watches, I just love them so much.

I absolutely love this watch. It has Roman numerals on the face, a gold rim and black strap. I love that it is unusual and it makes me look more sophisticated than I actually am.

This one is a Casio style watch.
I've wanted one of these type of watches for a while and I always put it off because the straps never fit around my wrist, once I discovered they were able to be adjusted, I bought it straight away and I'm glad I did.

I like that it's quite simple and casual and because it's silver, it goes with anything which is an added bonus.

Well, that is all, that's everything I want share with you today. I did want to put the blue jacket that I'm wearing in the above pictures, however, when I went to take the pictures, the lighting had changed and it wasn't very complimenting. It's a powder blue thin crepe jacket and it had drooped deep pockets. The front parts fold over and it folds over around the neck...sorry for that appalling description.

I hope you've enjoyed looking through this and it's given you some ideas for summer or for clothes if you're going on holiday. If you want to know how much or where anything is from I'm going to list them below. Some things I can't find links for and the Primark products don't have a link, other than that, I'll see you very soon.

Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish & Glitter Notebook

Hello everybody,

I have a lovely little post for you today and I feel like it's been a long time coming to just post something. I had revision and all boring stuff so I'm not going to go into detail about all that stuff.

So, excitingly, I have some new nail varnish and a glitter notebook to show you which I bought on Friday and I just fell in love with them.

Side note: The second picture is probably the most accurate colour-wise if you want to know what they look like in the bottles. The others make them look a little darker than they are. Enjoy!

Look how pretty they look! There seems to be a bit of a colour theme...

These are the Gelly Hi Shine nail varnishes from Barry M. I've never seemed to bother with these before and I've never thought that I wanted to try them but I am going on holiday soon and I wanted my nails to look nice. I've never had it before but I considered shellac which would last me a longer period of time than nail varnish would but then I decided I couldn't commit to that because I'd want to change the colour.

I remembered that Barry M did these Gelly ones and so I went to town on Friday and got some, although the time it took me to choose 3 colours was unnecessary, I picked these three and I'm very happy with them.

This shade is called 'Green Berry' and to be honest, it's not quite the colour it looks on this picture. The second picture ^^ is probably the most accurate but it's a nice dark mint shade anyway.

This shade is 'Blueberry' and this is the one I was most excited for, I just loved the colour it looked in the bottle (see 2nd picture) and I am looking forward to wearing this.

There seems to be a bit of a name theme as well as a colour theme as this shade name is 'Huckleberry'. All the berries! This one is a nice one! I have worn this one this weekend and when I bought it I thought it would be a little bit too pale and hardly have any colour but it is a lovely pastel, powder blue. I am impressed with how this stayed on. Usually a nail varnish will only last me about two days if I don't put more than two coats of it on, then it will start to really chip and look awful because I become 20% more heavy handed when I have nail varnish on it would seem. I put this on on Friday and it's lasted me until today (Sunday) and I've just taken it off now.

Finally 'My Journal' from Paperchase it's so beautiful and I love it a lot. This has a bit of a story behind it so excuse the big paragraph.
My friend, Sarah had a book similar to this kind last year. She wrote the date on every page and everyday she would bring it into school and draw something on the page of that day. I loved her book so much and we looked through it again the other day. I loved it that much it inspired me to do my own. We both decided we would do one or something similar to it this year BUT we had to leave it until after exams, so therefore this is our motivation.
In September, I might be going to college and Sarah is staying at our school, although this saddens both of us, these books are going to be our way of keeping in touch with each other so we can still chat and arrange to see each other.

I'm going to bring this post to an end now and hopefully you have enjoyed reading it and my nail varnish might have given you some ideas for summer nail varnish and maybe my journal has inspired you to do one of your own.
I am very pleased with the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail varnish and I do recommend it with approx. two or three coats so it is thick and long lasting.

Thanks for reading and I apologise if each paragraph has been so lengthy.

See you soon

Hello April

Hello everyone!

April is with us already! It's Spring, nearly Easter and nearly exam time which scares me a bit...

Anyway, because it's Spring, that means the nights are getting warmer and it's light for longer so what perfect opportunity to go for a walk in the park at 7:00pm.
I went with my Dad and we just walked around the park, took some photos and chatted.

I've been quite into taking pictures with my phone lately and I love the Samsung Galaxy S4  picture quality, saves me taking my camera out if I'm just going for a walk.
I took these photos on my phone and I'm really impressed with the way they look. The first one was in my garden but the rest are from the park.

Flowers are the first signs of Spring for me and there were so many daffodils in the park. I really loved these white flowers, I don't know if they're White Daffodils but I love them anyway.

I'm sorry this was quite short but I just wanted to share these and start writing as soon as I got home.

See you soon, hope you have enjoyed it and thanks for reading

Log Cabin Break

Hello everybody,

This weekend I've been on a little holiday to Cumbria in the Lake District to a log cabin from Friday until Today. It's been such a lovely peaceful but busy weekend, I've done a lot but it's all been so lovely and I've seen some lovely places and revisited old places that I used to go.

Obviously, I took my camera and on Sunday morning I went for a little 9 O'Clock morning walk with my camera and then my Dad followed and met me. We started throwing rocks in a river and trying to capture the splashes and some of them turned out really well. And then we all ended up out and about having a walk around the site later on when my Mum and Luca came to find us. Because it was still a bit early on Sunday morning, it was a bit gloomy and hadn't brightened up yet but before we left today I took some more pictures that look a lot brighter and spring-like.

I hope you've enjoyed looking through these few pictures I wanted to share with you and hopefully if the weather starts to brighten up a bit here in England I might be able to go out more often and take some nice spring pictures and get more blog posts up.

But that's all for now, speak to you soon

Sonny Angel - Monkey

 Hey everyone,

I think today's post is very exciting. It's taken a while for me to actually get around to doing this and I've been so tempted to post a picture on instagram but I wanted to wait until I'd wrote this.

Last weekend I bought this little Sonny Angel and it is THE cutest little thing ever and it's going to be my next load of collectables.

It comes in a really cute box and they are sold blind which means you don't know which one you get. Why am I wasting any more time lets just see them!!

This is the packaging which I think is really cute. I like that the shape is unusual and it has been designed nice.

This is one of the six sides which has the list of possible Sonny Angels you can get in this series (Animal series 1). From left-right, top-bottom; Rabbit, Frog, Cockerel, Panda, Koala, Tiger, Elephant, Monkey, Dalmatian, Cheetah, Crocodile, Lion.

LOOK AT HIM HE'S A LITTLE MONKEY! How cute is he!

Naked butt and cute angel wings.

Close up of him.

I love these very much and I will continue to collect them. There's 12 in this series and there's quite a few other series if none of these take your fancy, in which case you mustn't be feeling very well because how could they not?

They have a website that you can view them on (link at the end) and I think you can buy them online too but for some reason they are always 'Out of stock'.
As I'm in the UK, I bought this from Utility, I don't know if that shop exists in America or elsewhere but I'm sure you can find them online somewhere.

I hope you like this little guy and you've enjoyed this post, just a quick one, thank you for reading and I will keep this updated as I begin to own more.

I'm off to post a picture on instagram!

A Birthday Gift Idea: For Anyone

Hey everyone,

So before I begin today's post, I want to just say that last Monday, my blog turned 1. I have been writing this for just over a year now and I love it. People still read my posts and are still interested in what I have to say/show. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has read this, even if it has only been once, thank you. If you read every post, thank you. Or if this is the first post on my blog that you have read, thank you. I hope you are al here to stay and I appreciate the time you take to read posts on here.

So, anyway, today's post. Yesterday was my Nan's birthday and my Mum had bought her some presents but boring adult ones that she'd bought I wanted to do something that was a bit more thoughtful, quick, and easy to do.

I don't actually know the title of what this is called so I'm going to call it "Finger paint tape canvas" because realistically, that's what it is.

You will need:
  • A Canvas
  • Some different coloured paint (I used acrylic)
  • Paint sheets
  • Plate
  • Tape

First of all, you choose what your canvas to say. I chose 'Love' a simple thing that anyone appreciate. Take some tape and stick it down in the shape of the letters.

Next, in your work space, set out your paint on a sheet with a plate to squirt your paint on.

Then, choose some colours and squirt them onto your plate. Make sure your plate isn't a good one and you are allowed to get paint on it.

Go Wild. Rub your finger and hands into the paint and make prints all over your canvas.

Before your paint dries, carefully peel off the tape to reveal the letters underneath.

This is a really simple and quick diy gift to make. You just wait for it to dry and it's good to go.

Hope you have enjoyed this idea, very fun but very messy, as long as you take care to cover the work area, it will be safe.
Enjoy.

2014.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wow! 2014 already, I hope you enjoyed last year and if you have been reading since then, thank you and I hope you continue through this year. If you're new here, a warm welcome to you, I hope you stay and get to experience this with me and my readers.

I could so a really stereotypical New Year Resolutions post about keeping fit, eating healthy, blah blah blah... but we all know nobody ever sticks to them and I know I certainly don't so I've come up with something different.

New Years Resolutions Alternatives.

Because I will never stick to anything lifestyle-based, I have decided to do this. I have made a short list of 6 leisurely things that I want to achieve this year. Nothing academic or worthwhile....

Let's go:

1) Learn something I've never been able to do.

I don't know what I will do for this, there isn't a lot of things that come to mind when I think "I've never been able to do that!" so I will have to have a think about this one. I do however think it is good to learn new things even if they're simple things like riding a bike that you've just never done. Now's the time to go for it.

2) Do at least 1 good deed per day.

Rather than these resolutions be about me and how I want to improve myself, why not do something for other people.
I don't feel as though 1 good deed is asking for much - that's if I remember, and who knows what I'll get in return?

3) Save up.

I have recently got myself a paper round. If that phrase isn't familiar to you, newspapers are delivered to my house and I go and deliver them to the customers that have their papers delivered.
I have decided I am going to save and save and save if I can and think about doing something wise with my money. I have some ideas but I'm not going into that now.

4) Try a new food each week.

I don't do the shopping for my house so I don't buy the food so I'm thinking this one may be slightly difficult, however, I'll give it a try and see how I get on.

5) Keep up my photo album/photo book.

I received quite a few photo album/scrapbook type things for Christmas this year and I want to try and document good parts of 2014 in one of them. I feel as though now-a-days, we don't print as many pictures as people used to when they had film cameras and I certainly don't print as many as I'd like. I am going to make the effort to make these books of memories and even if it means printing from home, I have no issue with that.

6) BONUS ALTERNATIVE - Get my photo taken in five interesting places.

I am looking forward to this one a lot. I don't know where 2014 is going to take me. One of my highlights of last year was getting the opportunity to visit Devon which I loved. Hopefully in 2014, I can travel to new exciting places or new calm and relaxed places and get my photo taken to keep as a record.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and maybe it has inspired you to do some resolution alternatives if you're not very good like me. I don't seem to have a lot of contact with my readers and I wish I could have more. I'd love to hear about how you are doing with your New Years Resolutions or if you tried some alternatives, what were they?
